Dramatic Interior Skull Tapestry
Skull tapestry – the first thing that may be interesting to know about the tapestry that we are now dealing with is that it derives from the Greek. More precisely it comes from the word “tapes”, which can be translated as “carpet” or “blanket” and which in Latin became “carpet”. The term refers to an artistic work that is woven with threads of silk, wool or other material. The result is similar to a painted picture.
In order to reproduce people, animals, landscapes or other figures in a skull tapestry, yarns of different colors are used . In this way, the figures protrude visually from the rest of the tapestry from this difference of shades. In some cases, however, tapestries include reliefs. At first, the tapestries had no aesthetic, decorative or artistic purpose, but were hung on the walls to minimize cold radiation and increase the sensation of heat in an environment. In these cases, the tapestries resembled the curtains or, if placed on the floor, the carpets.
